Family Medicine Residency Program - Cheyenne

Jeremy Kessler, M.D.

2016 Graduate

Jeremy KesslerJeremy was born and raised just outside of New York City, and received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany with a major in biology and a minor in business.  He spent the following year in Albany, New York doing research and environmental analysis that was published in a study on the integrity of wetland ecosystems.  With the desire to make a larger impact on society, his path lead him back to the city where he worked for three years at Long Island Jewish Hospital in the operating room as a Laparoscopic Technician.  With this exposure to patient care, in depth surgical procedures and groundbreaking medicine, he was motivated to go back to school at night to complete pre-requisites for medical school.  He subsequently went to medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico, completing his training through the New York Medical College in Westchester, NY.  While training in Mexico, Jeremy participated in numerous surgical brigades and medical missions by volunteering his time to provide much needed health care and surgeries to the underprivileged communities of Central America, focused in Mexico and Guatemala.  Jeremy went on to complete a one-year surgical residency program in the University of Florida at Gainesville.  His desire to be more involved and hands on with the community and to practice broad-spectrum medicine lead him to the UW Family Medicine Residency Program.  Jeremy enjoys the outdoors in his free time; playing soccer, camping, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding and surfing.  Jeremy also enjoys playing guitar, listening to music, especially live show, concerts or music festivals.  Doctor Kessler will be working as a physician at a summer camp in New York where he spent time as a kid.  When he returns he will be working at Health Reach Urgent Care in Cheyenne.
