Transportation
Driving:
Laramie is easily accessed along Interstate 80 in southeast
Wyoming. The Union is located on 13th Street where it dead-ends
into campus. It is immediately north of the Library which is on
the corner of 13th Street and Ivinson Avenue. To drop people off
near the Union, turn north from Grand Ave. on 13th Street. A
turnaround is available in front of the Union.
Flying:
Air service to the
Laramie Regional Airport (airport code LAR) is available
thrice daily from Denver with Great Lakes Airlines.
Campus Shuttle
Free shuttles to the Union are new to UW this
year. Because of limited parking on campus near the Union,
consider parking at 30th Street and Willet Drive (east of
campus) and taking the Union Express to campus ($1 roundtrip).
At the parking lot, look for the two shelters on the east and
west ends of the lot. The bus labeled Union Express stops at
these shelters often. It will take you directly to the east
(back) entrance of the Union. You might also consider the
parking lot at 15th Street and Spring Creek Drive called the
South Express (the lot is located south of campus at the site of
the former Albertson’s store). No permit is needed for these
lots. The buses run from 7am to 6pm. A map of stops is available
at www.uwyo.edu/tap/2008campusshuttle.pdf
Campus Parking
If you are not a UW student or a staff/faculty member, you will
need a parking permit to park on campus. Shuttles to satellite
lots are available (there is a modest cost). The Express bus
runs from the free parking located at Willett Drive and Crane
Street, Visit UW’s Transportation and Parking website for more
information. See particularly the "Parking
map" and "day use and short term parking".
