Land Surveying
"The program has instilled in me a love and respect for the profession. While many skills are still in serious need of honing, I believe that the foundational respect is paramount, the rest I can work on and will do so with a profound sense of honor and pride. Thank you all for your patience with us students!"
- Steven Roerig, Survey Technician
About the program
The University of Wyoming offers 52 credit hours of courses in land surveying developed for nationwide study through Outreach Credit Programs, a division of the UW Outreach School.
Completion of 24 hours will earn a certificate of study in land surveying. The certificate program provides a way for students who have previously earned degrees from other institutions to take these courses without having to pay increased tuition associated with graduate study. The courses are made up of lectures of one to two hours weekly. Courses are delivered via streaming video through the Internet, and audio teleconference sessions during an assigned weekday evening so students can participate no matter where they live.
Please note: The surveying courses may be considered by state boards for continuing education for licensed land surveyors. Contact your state board for guidelines.
