Precast T Beam

This is a test to failure of a precast single T beam that is reinforced with carbon fiber instead of steal. As the video will show, the failure is not as ductile as a steal failure but the carbon fiber does not have the corrosion problems that steal has.

The size and weight of these beams made delivery an exciting event. Lewis Street, behind the engineering building, had to be closed while a crane unloaded three semi loads of beams.
