"After graduating UW in May of 2018, I went to work for the Wyoming Dept. of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer in Riverton, WY (My interest in this came from Dr. Wodahl's Correction Course). While there, I discovered that I was really passionate about the concept of Drug Court and after 7 months with Probation and Parole, I was offered a position through the Teton County Sheriff's Dept. as the Drug Court and Alternatives to Incarceration Coordinator. In this position, I not only oversee Drug Court and it's budget but I am also working to help implement the 24/7 program and other pre-trial services within the County.
The Criminal Justice program at UW helped me find my path and now I get to do something I love everyday while helping to make a difference in my community. I can not give enough thanks and praise to UW and it's Faculty!

"I was indeed selected to attend Officer Training School in Montgomery, Alabama. I officially report for training tomorrow and have an anticipated graduation date of December 11th of this year. It has been a long, extensive process to get here but I know that I would not be here without the help of your generous words. I doubt I could ever say thank you enough but thank you, thank you, thank you! “
Best Regards,

"I just wanted to say thank you to the Criminal Justice department and UW for preparing me for a career in criminal justice. I am a 2013 CJ grad and Air Force ROTC alum. When I graduated and commissioned, I was supposed to be a missile operations officer, but in a twist of fate, I was given the opportunity to become a Special Agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), a federal law enforcement agency charged with criminal, fraud, and counterintelligence investigations for the U.S. Air Force. (Think NCIS, but for the Air Force, and less television). I credit this success both to good timing and the education I received at UW. From the classes in the CJ department to the amazing internship with UWPD, I learned a lot there, and use what I learned every day as a federal agent. Ironically, I am now stationed in Cheyenne, and loving every minute of it. Many thanks to UW, more specifically the CJ department!! A special shout out and thank you to professor Cheryl Burnett for all of her advice, help, and dedication to teaching! Congrats on her retirement!"

"I graduated from the University of Wyoming in May 2012 with a degree in Criminal Justice. In less than 6 months after graduation, I was hired as a Probation/Parole Agent for the Wyoming Department of Corrections. As a Probation/Parole Agent I have supervised anywhere from 10 to 80 offenders at one time in caseloads such as traditional, the Intensive Supervised Program, Drug Court program, offenders from other states, and written Pre-Sentence Investigation Reports for clients on bond to be sentenced. As part of my job, I frequently attend court, occasionally I am required to testify, I conduct home visits and searches of offender's homes, meet with my clients in my office, and of course there is a lot of paperwork. I absolutely love my job and am grateful for my education from the CJ Department at UW"
