Community Change

The healthy choice should be the easy choice – for ALL families. Statewide, the Cent$ible Nutrition Program is seeking out new opportunities to promote policy, system, and environmental changes in the community. We hope these changes will increase access to healthy foods and physical activity for everyone.

Beth is a member of the Inter-agency Coordinating Council, which is a coordination of all services that support low-income families, in particular supporting their children and youth. The program is going to have a bigger presence at the farmers' market next year. Beth is working with the Campbell County horticulturist and the Master Gardeners to support those on SNAP benefits through a grant.
The Gillette Farmers’ Market wants to be part of the solution to providing food-insecure families in our community with nutritious food by: 1) Increasing our SNAP incentive match; 2) Purchasing unsold produce from our vendors for a local food bank; and 3) Offering free nutrition, cooking, and gardening classes.
