Application and Interview Information


To apply for the CACREP accredited Counselor Education doctoral or Master's programs, you must first apply to the graduate school. Please use this link: Graduate  Application.

Application Deadlines

  • Master's Application Deadline: January 15
  • Doctoral Application Deadline: January 15

Applicant Interview Dates

  • Master's Group Interview Date for the Laramie cohort: February 5, 2010.
    All applicants with files completed by January 15 are automatically invited to the group interview day in Laramie, 8 a.m. 3 p.m. If unable to attend the Group Interview Day, applicants must submit GRE scores to be considered for admission. Otherwise, GRE scores are NOT required. Teaching certificates and teaching experience are NOT required for those planning to become professional school counselors. Our Laramie program is a concentrated, intense, 2-year program with classes beginning in June for those newly admitted.
  • Doctoral Interview Date: We conduct interviews in January and February in person, via phone or videoconferencing.  We welcome and encourage you to visit with us in person, tour our campus and community, and talk with current students.

Please print the application packet for the Master's or doctoral program. Complete and return the appropriate forms.  The following application packets are for the UW Laramie campus. Prior to full acceptance into the Counselor Education Program, all students are required to complete a background check. In the provisional acceptance letter, there will be directions for this process.

UW/CC Casper Master's program in School Counseling or Mental Health Counseling

The Casper Outreach, UW/CC (University of Wyoming/Casper College), program is for students who continue regular employment during the weekdays and choose our nationally accredited 3-year, WEEKEND program.

Beginning Fall 2010, we will begin taking applications for the Fall 2011 cohort.
