Wyoming Institute for Play Therapy and Early Childhood Leadership
Wyoming Institute for Play Therapy and Early Childhood Leadership was July 10-11, 2009 on the University of Wyoming campus sponsored by the Department of Counselor Education and the Ellbogen Foundation.
Renowned keynote speaker and facilitator was Beth Limberg, Ph.D., RPT-S, from Alliant University, Sacramento. Dr. Limberg offered a focus on providing direct care (developmental guidance, community resourcing, etc.) to high-risk families with infants and toddlers as well as pragmatic strategies for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment regarding infant-preschool mental health and attachment issues.
Our Pre-Institute Workshop (July 8-9) featured Dr. Heather Helm, registered play therapist from University of Northern Colorado, whose expertise and experience provide a solid foundation of basic knowledge and skills for participants to begin earning play therapy certification. Continuing Education, PTSB and UW Graduate Credit was available. Our next Play Therapy Institute will be the summer of 2011.
