Twelve College of Education undergraduates are sharing their enthusiasm for their chosen career fields and the University of Wyoming as the first class of UW Education Ambassadors.

The College of Education established the program during the spring 2003 semester, to help promote its undergraduate programs in Laramie and beyond. Ambassadors participate in a wide array of student recruitment events on campus and in their home communities. They also will assist with college-wide events, such as commencement and the annual spring honors banquet, and welcome students to each new semester.

“The Ambassadors program involves student leaders in recruitment and in making the college community more fun,” Ambassadors coordinator Ashley Maloney says. “It also provides a student voice in communicating with the college administration. They are the select eyes and ears of the college.”

In addition to maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5, Ambassador candidates also needed a track record of participation in student organizations and at least one recommendation from a faculty or staff member. They also participated in a group interview process.
