Barbara Kahn Lecture Series & CEU Opportunities

Division of Communication Disorders Alumni

Barbara Kahn Lecture Series

Barbara Lou Kahn graduated from UW in 1951.  As an SLP, she worked in the Lander area schools but died suddenly on July 27, 1952 at the age of 22 as a result of a head injury sustained in a fall from a horse.  Her parents established the Barbara Kahn Foundation for Speech Correction in honor of their daughter.  This endowment has funded numerous student and faculty research and graduate assistantships.  In 2003, the Division initiated an annual summer lecture series in her honor.  These 1-2 day workshops offer ASHA CEUs on a variety of topics and are free of charge to professionals who have donated their time to supervise students and/or are members of the Wyoming Speech and Hearing Association (WSHA).  If you would like to contribute specifically to this foundation, make contributions payable to: UW Barbara Kahn Foundation for Speech Correction.
