October 26, 2012 — The second annual “Listening to Nature” program will showcase works from scientists, artists and writers reflecting on human perceptions of the natural world on Friday, November 9, at the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center on the University of Wyoming campus. The evening begins with a reception at 5:15 p.m. in the lobby, followed by readings in the auditorium at 6 p.m.

October 9, 2012 — Acclaimed author Brian Leung will be visiting UW on October 24 and 25, 2012. The main event of his visit will be a presentation at on October 25 at 5:00 pm in William Robertson Coe Library, Room 506. His reading is free and open to the public.
September 4, 2012 — The University of Wyoming’s Department of Art, the MFA program in Creative Writing, and Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts are pleased to present “Brush Creek Presents” on Thursday, September 20, 2012. The event will be held at the University of Wyoming Visual Arts room 111 from 5-7 pm. Brush Creek Presents is a free, one-night presentation featuring the current artists-in-residence at Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts. Set up in ten minute segments, each artist, writer or musician will briefly share their talents with time for question and answer at the end of the evening.
September 12, 2012 — Award-winning poet CAConrad will read from his work at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Night Heron Books, located at 107 E. Ivinson St.
August 21, 2012 — Acclaimed nonfiction writer, poet and critic Maggie Nelson is the first Eminent Writer in Residence for the fall semester at the University of Wyoming.
August 23, 2012 — MFA Graduate Student Chelsea Biondolillo has had her panel proposal 'The Art and Craft of Short-form Nonfiction' accepted for inclusion in AWP's 2013 Conference and Book Fair
May 25, 2012 — Twenty-six years after he unsuccessfully attempted to climb Mount Everest as a graduate student at the University of Wyoming, Mark Jenkins has reached the summit of the world’s highest mountain.
April 6, 2012 — The last time Mark Jenkins tried to climb Mount Everest, he was pursuing a master’s degree in geography at the University of Wyoming. He was unable to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain on that 1986 expedition but, as part of his research into acid snow, he collected snow samples at a higher elevation than anyone had before.
April 12, 2012 — Katie Boom’s exhibition, "Sideshow America," can be seen through Wednesday, April 25, in Gallery 234, Room 004, in the lower level of the University of Wyoming Union.
April 23, 2012 — The University of Wyoming Graduate Council has selected this year's graduate award winners.
March 28, 2012 — Poet Rebecca Lindenberg will read from her first book Monday, April 2, at Second Story Books. Her collection is dedicated to the memory of University of Wyoming Associate Professor Craig Arnold, who disappeared while conducting research three years ago.
March 21, 2012 — The MFA program in Creative Writing will host two Eminent Writers in Residence, Maggie Nelson and Mark Nowak, at the University of Wyoming during the 2012-2013 academic year. During their visits, Nelson and Nowak will work closely with MFA students, visit classes and writing workshops, and give public readings of their work.
February 1, 2012 — Acclaimed author John D’Agata is this semester’s first Eminent Writer in Residence in the University of Wyoming MFA Program in Creative Writing.
February 21, 2012 — Acclaimed author and National Geographic field staff writer Mark Jenkins will give his photo-illustrated presentation of the devastation and suffering caused by Cambodian landmines Feb. 27-March 22 in Laramie, Cheyenne, Torrington, Riverton, Rock Springs and Powell. The forums are free and open to the public.

January 30, 2012 — Rattawut Lapcharoensap, University of Wyoming MFA Program in Creative Writing Eminent Writer in Residence, is the recipient of a major five-year European literary grant from the Abraham Woursell Foundation. He recently accepted the prize in Vienna, Austria.
