Faculty Craft Talk by David RomtvedtStart: Monday, November 02, 2009 - 5:30 PM Event Details:
This fall, the MFA faculty will begin offering craft talks once a semester. In these presentations, MFA faculty members will discuss how they approach their work--questions of process, of aesthetic, of revision, and more. We hope these presentations will be interesting to all members of the program, and in particular we hope they'll serve as useful models for students when they begin to prepare their artist's statements and ready for their thesis defenses.
Our first faculty craft talk will be given by David Romtvedt. David says of his presentation, "I'm going to talk about some of the things that govern what I'm trying to do when shaping a poem--what makes something a poem for me, what constraints I give myself. In the end I think for me a craft talk is an examination of an aesthetic."
David's talk will be held on Monday 11/2 at 5:30 at the Carriage House. The presentation is open to all.
