The Good Mule Project is an event series at the University of Wyoming fostering a community of dialogue and action around issues of multiculturalism and diversity through the lens of social justice activism.
The Good Mule Project’s name recognizes the steadfast and resilient nature of the mule. Our communities are facing vast and complex issues and are in need of individuals with personal stories, ideas, and talents to be committed to the continual process required of creating positive change through social justice activism. The Good Mule Project seeks to impart the nature of the mule onto such individuals we encounter as social justice activists.

Ice on Fire is a documentary about our planet's climate change and what new innovative technology that is being used to combat it. We are screening the documentary and have a thirty minute discussion afterwards, snacks and drinks will be provided.

The People’s Supper is a dialogue event that aims to build understanding through productive conversations and shared experiences. This People’s Supper focuses on reweaving the social fabric and fostering connections.
Once you register for the event, you will show up by 6 PM to check in before entering the family room. At check in, you will be randomly assigned a table to sit at with a maximum of six people per table. The meal will be served in a buffet style, and tables will be dismissed to get their food

Pattie Gonia (she/her) is an advocate for the environment, for inclusivity and diversity in the outdoors, and for the LGBTQ+ community. The Pattie Gonia community exists to uplift LGBTQ people and allies in the outdoors and to exist as a platform to give other voices and organizations all the shine in the world. Out of heels, Wyn Wiley (he/him) is a 27 year old born and raised Nebraskan, a professional photographer, speaker, educator, and creative director for major brands as well as a number of non-profits around the world. Wyn has a long history of working with youth and youth focused non-profits.
This event is hosted by the Good Mule Project, Shepard Symposium on Social Justice, Wyoming Equality, and the Multicultural Affairs Speaker Series.

The People's Supper is a dialogue event that aims to build understanding, even when conversations are difficult. This event will bring participants together to share their experiences with community and being part of a democratic society. Dinner will be provided.
Participants must be part of the University of Wyoming Surveillence Testing program.

The People’s Supper was created out of a desire to help neighbors and friends talk to each other, even when conversation is difficult. This outdoor People’s Supper (People's Picnic) on Tuesday, September 22 at 5:30 pm will bring participants together to share their experiences with community and conversations in a divided society. Bring your own meal and share a conversation!
Participants must be part of the phase 2 bridge testing program and will be screened before entry. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
Although our nation’s social fabric is badly frayed by distance and division, together we can weave a strong social fabric and emerge stronger and united. The COVID-19 pandemic can either drive us apart or bring us together. Weaving Community is a set of discussion prompts aimed at building civil dialog and understanding among University of Wyoming students, faculty, and staff.

Join the SLCE office for an evening of conversation focused on fighting hate and injustice by learning how foster civil dialogue. The evening will begin with a short introduction followed by round table conversations. There will be questions on the table to foster discussion and guests are invited to participate in the guided prompts. Join The Good Mule Project for a presentation on the inaccurate representation of Native American and Indigenous Peoples in mascots, costumes, and holidays by Dr. Angela Jaime. Through the lens of education and socialization, this event will offer a critical analysis of these caricatures and their harmful impact on Native American groups today. Daryl Davis will be presenting on his hands-on experiences with racial issues. He has met with Ku Klux Klan leaders and attended rallies with the intent, and successful track record, of changing hearts and convincing members to renounce their racist beliefs. As a black man, endeavors such as these are an especially distinctive tactic for addressing race issues.
Tickets to the event and transportation is free and open to University of Wyoming students, staff & faculty. Registration is required to reserve your spot and space is limited.
