Campus Compact
Campus Compact works to develop students not only as active citizens but also as leaders in guiding their own civic and academic learning. Our initiatives both guide and recognize students’ efforts to make college a place to connect with the community.

Campus Compact of the Mountain West
At Campus Compact of the Mountain West, programming and support for colleges and universities helps inspire the spark of involvement and service in students. We connect student needs to community needs by empowering students to get involved in social issues where they can make a difference—not only in the lives of others, but in their own growth as students and citizens of the world.

The National Service-Learning Conference
Originating in Minnesota in 1989, the National Service-Learning Conference is the largest gathering of youth and adults involved in the service-learning movement. Each year, it draws nearly 2,000 attendees from across the United States and around the globe.

Clinton Global Initiative University
Building on the successful model of the Clinton Global Initiative, which brings together world leaders to take action on global challenges, President Clinton launched the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) in 2007 to engage the next generation of leaders on college campuses around the world.

GlobeChangers
GlobeChangers identifies extraordinary young Americans, ages 5-25, with big ideas and big energy. Through training and mentorship, we help translate their big idea to change the world into national or global service projects.

Imagining America Undergraduate Fellows
The Imagining America Undergraduate Fellows program brings together engaged undergraduate students at the Imagining America national conference. The students discuss, reflect on, and are a part of a larger undergraduate group at the conference that explores how to integrate public engagement into their lives after college.

National Youth Leadership Council
The mission of NYLC is to create a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world with young people, their schools, and their communities through service-learning.

Mobilize.org
Mobilize.org believes that in order to create long-term, sustainable and community based solutions to the challenges facing our generation, Millennials (young adults born between the years 1976 and 1996) must authentically engage their peers in identifying problems, proposing solutions, and most importantly, must work together to implement these solutions on their campuses and in their communities.


The National Conference on Citizenship is a dynamic, non-partisan nonprofit working at the forefront of our nation’s civic life. We continuously explore what shapes today’s citizenry, define the evolving role of the individual in our democracy, and uncover ways to motivate greater participation.

The National Conference on Volunteering and Service
Points of Light's annual Conference provides attendees an opportunity to learn, connect and be inspired through a wide range of exciting and informative plenary sessions, workshops, immersion learnings, special events, service projects, exhibits, specialized tracks and more.

Federal Government Internship Program
This Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.

VolunteerMatch.org
VolunteerMatch strengthens communities by making it easier for good people and good causes to connect. The organization offers a variety of online services to support a community of nonprofit, volunteer, and business leaders committed to civic engagement.

United We Serve
United We Serve, President Obama’s nationwide service initiative, is built on the belief that ordinary people can come together and achieve extraordinary things when given the proper tools. This initiative aims to both expand the impact of existing organizations by engaging new volunteers in their work and encourage volunteers to develop their own "do-it-yourself" projects.

AmeriCorps
Each year, AmeriCorps offers 75,000 opportunities for adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve through a network of partnerships with local and national nonprofit groups. Whether your service makes a community safer, gives a child a second chance, or helps protect the environment, you’ll be getting things done through AmeriCorps!

Peace Corps
The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspiration grew an agency of the federal government devoted to world peace and friendship.

Youth Service America
Youth Service America helps young people find their voice, take action, and make an impact on vital community issues.

State Farm Youth Advisory Board
Thirty students, ages 17-20, from across the United States and Canada comprise the State Farm Youth Advisory Board. They are charged with helping State Farm design and implement a $5 million-a-year signature service-learning initiative to address issues important to State Farm and communities across the United States and Canada.

IMPACT Conference
The mission of IMPACT is to connect, educate, and mobilize college students, nonprofit professionals, and educators to strengthen their communities through service, action, and advocacy.

National Youth Leadership Council Awards
NYLC awards shine a spotlight on exemplary leaders from across the service-learning movement and nurture the leaders of the future. Most awards are presented annually at the National Service-Learning Conference.

Newman Civic Fellows Award
The Newman Civic Fellows Award honors inspiring college student leaders who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for challenges facing communities throughout the country. Through service, research, and advocacy, Newman Civic Fellows are making the most of their college experiences to better understand themselves, the root causes of social issues, and effective mechanisms for creating lasting change.

Graduate Students

Presidential Management Fellows Program
Bearing the Presidential moniker, the PMF Program is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates. It was created more than three decades ago by Executive Order and has gone through many changes over the years. The Program attracts and selects the best candidates possible, but is really designed with a more narrow focus - developing a cadre of potential government leaders.

IARSLCE Graduate Student Network
The Graduate Student Network is a community of graduate students from all over the world who are interested in advancing research on service-learning and community engagement from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

IARSLCE Graduate Student Conference Scholarship and Dissertation Award
The International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement sponsors a number of awards including several specifically for graduate students.

NSEE Research/Dissertation Award
The National Society for Experiential Education Outstanding Research/Dissertation Award recognizes an NSEE member who has published research or completed a doctoral dissertation within the past 2 years that makes important contributions to our understanding of experiential education.

Publicly Active Graduate Education Program
PAGE embodies the principles of participatory democracy by demonstrating how networking and self-organizing among graduate students can strengthen their facility for career decision-making and for realizing their aspirations.

Service-Learning Research Primer
This research primer, created by the IUPUI Center for Service and Learning, is designed to address the need for information on how to conduct high-quality and rigorous research on service-learning. It reviews the literature base, appropriate research methodologies and measurement procedures, and available online resources.
