Leadership

Group of Students

Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW)

The purpose of the Student Government of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming is to serve our fellow students in the best manner possible through accurate representation, professional interaction with campus programs and organizations, and responsible, effective leadership.

First Year Institute (FYI)

FYI (First-Year Institute) is a student-led leadership retreat that helps first-year students find their place on campus and make their initial year as successful as possible! The FYI program is run by student facilitators who are highly successful student leaders in their junior and senior years at UW. The FYI student facilitators plan numerous aspects of the institute and facilitate the majority of the leadership development activities.  Participants in the program can expect to learn more about themselves as leaders, the vast involvement opportunities at UW, and meet other first-year students at UW.

Through your work as a First-Year senator, you will connect and build meaningful relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and elected officials from across the state of Wyoming. These connections will aid you in bettering your experiences as a student at the University of Wyoming.
