Virtual Engagement

Upcoming Events  |   Virtual UW Events  Health & Wellness Community Service  |  Entertainment & Creative Arts  |  Educational, Travel & Exploration

Looking for fun virtual engagement activities for your student organization? Need a break from online classes? A few moments to de-stress?

As we adapt to a new virtual learning environment in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are faced with a unique opportunity to stretch our communication skills and utilize new technologies to create more personalized and adaptive learning and connections for students. Broadly defined, virtual engagement involves using various online technologies such as Zoom video conferencing, social media, and other digital platforms. These platforms will help students to stay involved with the UW campus community.

The resources offered on these pages aim to assist in the intellectual and professional development of our students. Utilizing these resources and new technologies will:

  • Help create more personalized and adaptive learning and connections for students

  • Offer structured digital engagement

  • Provide social opportunities in a digital environment

We want UW students to succeed anytime, anyplace. These resources are available 24/7 because students are 24/7. Please share these resources with your student peers during this time of social distancing and virtual learning.

Take a few minutes and explore the resources compiled by The Center for Student Involvement & Leadership!

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Typically this time of year the Wellness Center and UW Libraries would partner to bring you a slate of programs to practice self-care during finals week.  We’re still here and have developed a website with lots of these things, including playlists, cute pet videos, self-care tips, and more. Additionally, follow the University of Wyoming Instagram (@uofwyoming) channel for tips throughout the next couple of weeks. Good luck – you got this!

Virtual service is a type of volunteerism that allows you to share your time and talents as members through service away from any physical site of an organization or project.

  • Be My Eyes is a free app that connects blind and low-vision people with sighted volunteers and company representatives for visual assistance through a live video call.

  • Charity Miles lets you turn a neighborhood jog or weekend hike into a fundraiser for good. Just choose a charity and get moving. The app tracks your movement. For every mile you log, you help to earn money for your chosen charity.

  • Tarjimly allows the world’s 3 billion bilinguals to translate for the world’s 23 million refugees.
