Assessment Academy Conference Travel Grants: 2013-2014 (Deadline October 11, 2013)
The Office of Academic Affairs and the Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer several competitive mini-grants (individual or group) to support attendance at training and professional development conferences in assessment of student learning. By attending national workshops/conferences in this field, you will be able increase your skills and knowledge in one of the following areas
There are a number of professional development venues and opportunities available to you, including, but not limited to:
IUPUI’s 2013 Assessment Institute. Oct 27-29, 2013
AAC&U’s General Education and Assessment: Disruptions, Innovations, and Opportunities, Feb 27-March 1, 2014
33rd Annual Conference on the First-year Experience, Feb 15-18, 2014
HLC Annual Meeting, April 10-14, 2014
ABET: Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. These workshops focus on program assessment and best practices, not solely on engineering accreditation. For further information, please contact Professor Patricia Colberg (email@example.com)
To apply for one of these grants, please write a brief proposal that outlines how training in one of these areas would benefit your program or department. Please attach an approximate budget of travel/conference expenses. Applications should be submitted by email to Meg Flanigan Skinner (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, October 11th, 2013.
Please note that travel grants will be made in the form of a budget transfer to the recipients’ home department state account. Monies must be spent by the end of the fiscal year, 2014.
The University Assessment Coordinators, in conjunction with the ECTL, will be hosting the 3rd annual Assessment Academy. Up to six departments and programs will be accepted into the academy. Applications are team applications requiring at least three members to work on an assessment project over the course of the 2012-2013 academic year. As part of participation, teams will be required to attend one fall and one spring group meeting.
For further information, contact Meg Flanigan Skinner, ECTL Director.
