Digital Teaching and Learning

Digital teaching and learning encompasses instructional practices that effectively use technology to strengthen teaching and learning experiences through best practices in teaching and learning. Digital teaching and learning can encompass many different techniques, tools, digital content and resources, and applications to support and empower teachers and students, in all educational environments including online, hybrid, and face to face. Digital teaching and learning increases equity and access to educational opportunities as well as providing instructors with the knowledge and tools to teach inclusively.

The Future of Teaching and Learning – Faculty Learning Community 2021-22

In March of 2020 teaching and learning changed rapidly and drastically. Throughout the past year we have learned an incredible amount about teaching as we navigated zoom, hyflex, hybrid, online shells, online courses, and socially distanced classrooms. Through it all faculty, students, and staff have shown incredible resilience!

Many people are now looking forward to a return to ’normal’ but there are many questions. What will the new ’normal’ look like? What have we learned about teaching and learning? Will students and faculty want a complete return to ’normal’? Should we return from a flexible, compassionate, resilient, present? Can we take the best from all possible spaces into a new and improved learning environment?

With our collaboration partners, the Learning Actively Mentoring Program (LAMP) and the UW Libraries, we will discuss these questions and more as together we explore what the future of teaching holds in store.

This faculty learning community is open to any UW or Wyoming Community College faculty member with teaching experience that includes multiple years and delivery methods. Space is limited to 15 participants.

Participants will receive a copy of The Future of Teaching published by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Tuesdays from 2:00-3:30 pm (in person or via Zoom):
Fall: Sept. 7, Sept. 28, Oct. 19, Nov. 9 and Nov. 30
Spring: Feb. 1, Feb. 22, Apr. 5, and Apr. 26
