Teaching And Technology (TNT) Boot Camp Series
The Instructional Design and Technology unit merges instructional design, technology, and best-practice pedagogies to help faculty create learning environments where students and instructors can thrive and succeed. Our lab offers hardware and software for authoring of materials, scanning to digital forms, and other teaching-related tasks. Popular services include the following:
WyoCourses Training, Support, and Consultations Our regularly scheduled workshops focus on basic through advanced uses of UW’s learning management system, WyoCourses. We also consult about and support pedagogical uses of WyoCourses. See our website for workshop schedules; to schedule one-on-one or small group consultations, email email@example.com or call 766-4814.
Instructional Technology Training and Workshops Similar to the WyoCourses support program, these services focus on technologies that are particularly useful for teaching, for example web conferencing and multimedia production and editing tools.
Faculty TOUCH/Open Lab Hours We offer open lab hours every week for personal hands-on assistance with use of technologies for teaching.
Production Services and Assistance In our lab, we consult with and assist faculty and their student assistants with digital audio and video production as well as digital scanning of 35mm slide film. In addition, we provide DVD and CD duplication and assist with archiving and repurposing of instructional media (VHS to DVD, for example).
Lecture-Capture and Classroom Response Systems We help instructors integrate best-practice pedagogies with live or on-demand, server-based delivery of video and audio streams using the WyoCast lecture-capture system (http://www.uwyo.edu/infotech/services/multimedia/wyocast/). We assist with classroom response systems, for example, iClickers and PollEverywhere.
MultiMedia Workstation We provide training and support to help instructors develop rich media content for their courses on our faculty multimedia workstation. Make an appointment with Phineas Kelly for help creating images, audio, video and mobile content for WyoCourses and beyond.
Instructional Technology Loan Program Our lab offers short-term loans of various devices, including camcorders and audio recorders (with accessories and support for editing and formatting), a 35 mm slide projector, and microphones. Contact Phineas Kelly for checkout.
We can be reached at ECTLIDT@uwyo.edu or via telephone at 766-4814.
