Barbara B.

Barbara Bogart holds graduate degrees from San Francisco State and UCLA. As a literature and American Studies instructor, she has extensive experience in working with students on developing their ideas and honing their writing skills. She has served as a consultant at the Writing Center since 2014.

Chloe is from North Holmwood in Surrey, England. She is pursuing her MA in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition Studies, and she hopes to pursue a career in higher-education as a university professor. Chloe gained experience teaching English in Vietnam and as an English 1010 instructor at UW. She enjoys cooking, reading, and art.

I double majored in Chemistry and Physics at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. After college, I worked in the Research & Development divisions at Ecolab and 3M in Minnesota. I am currently working on a PhD in Hydrologic Science after completing my MS in Soil Science/Water Resources at the University of Wyoming. Along with my probably obvious interest in science, I also love writing. I hope to publish a novel someday and enjoy writing travel guides for my website. My favorite activities are hiking, snowshoeing, camping, traveling, reading, photography, and yoga.

Jess is dual major in Psychology and Gender and Women's Studies, with a minor in Honors, Queer Studies, and Creative Writing. Originally from Rock Springs, Jess enjoys mountain biking, reading, spending time with friends, and being involved in both the University and Laramie community. Grad school is probably in the future, though perhaps after a brief break from academia.

Katie is from Douglas, Wyoming. She is majoring in English and minoring in Honors, and she hopes to pursue a career as a Public Librarian. Katie enjoys reading, horseback riding, and creative writing.

Lydia is from Big Horn, Wyoming. She is studying English and English: Secondary Education at the University of Wyoming, and she is pursuing a minor in Psychology. After graduation, Lydia hopes to pursue a career in secondary and post-secondary education. She enjoys playing video games, writing, reading, watching cheesy movies, and snowboarding.

Mari is from Palmer, Alaska. She is studying English and minoring in Anthropology and Creative Writing. Mari hopes to pursue a career as a professor, in the non-profit sector, or possibly something else! She enjoys reading, writing, and hanging out with her dog. She also speaks Danish and is active with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Mary is from Yoder, Wyoming. She is majoring in International Studies and minoring in Honors and Economics at the University of Wyoming. She hopes to pursue a career with the UN, the US State Department, or UNICEF. Mary enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with friends, and participating in sorority events. She is currently the Delta Delta Delta Secretary.

Matt Drollette, Interim Director, Asst. Lecturer Matt has been working in Writing Centers since 2012. He started out as a Peer Tutor at Weber State University in Ogden, UT where he earned his BA in English: Creative Writing. He holds an MA in English from the University of Wyoming and is certified as a Writing Center Administrator through St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Matt has taught First- and Second-year Composition, Technical Writing in the Professions, and Writing Tutor Pedagogy. He works with undergrads, faculty, and staff on all types of writing projects, and has extensive experience working with English Language Learners and writers from diverse backgrounds.

Missy is from Raleigh, North Carolina and has her BA in English with a minor in Psychology. She is currently working on her MA in English with a focus on Afro-Caribbean Diaspora Studies. Missy hopes to go on to get her PhD and start her career as a professor. She enjoys reading, volleyball, cooking, and snowboarding.

Nell Hanley earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Austin, Texas, where she was a fellow at the Michener Center for Writers. She was a Lecturer for the UWYO English Department for several years, teaching fiction workshops and Introduction to Literature. She has published short fiction and poetry in various print and online journals.


Rick F.

Rick F.

Rick Fisher is currently the director of University of Wyoming Communication across the Curriculum. He completed his Ph.D. in Literacy Studies in 2018, and has taught a variety of academic, technical, and professional writing classes. His scholarly interests include Writing across the Curriculum (WAC), student transitions into and out of the university setting, and the role of genres in disciplinary enculturation.


Tristan W.

Tristan W.

Tristan is from Rock Springs, Wyoming. He is pursuing two bachelor’s degrees: a BA in English and a BS in Physiology. He hopes to pursue a career as a physician’s assistant, and he enjoys ice skating, band, and art.
