Potential Partners Form
The Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium sponsors education and research programs in the state of Wyoming in support of NASA goals. Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium is one of 52 consortia representing each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Our programs include research fellowships for students and grants for faculty at Wyoming's 2- and 4-year colleges, scholarship programs for community college students pursuing math and science careers, resources for Wyoming's K-12 students and teachers, educational programs for the general public, and summer research opportunities for students at HBCUs.
One of the goals of NASA and of the University of Wyoming is to get more women and ethnic minorities involved in educational programs. NASA is particularly interested in recruiting these students into STEM fields given that women and ethnic minorities are underrepresented in the sciences. Additional goals of both NASA and the University are to build sustainable partnerships with HBCUs and to increase diversity within both the NASA community and here at the University of Wyoming. To help achieve this, Wyoming NASA Space Grant, in partnership with the UW Science Posse, Diversity Office, and School of Energy Resources, offers summer research fellowships for students at HBCUs. During the summer, students are paired with graduate student mentors in their field and participate in research endeavors. We hope to continue to build this program.
