After working for several years in the private for-profit child care business, Mark began his career with the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in 1991 as the Director of the UW Child Care Center. He has a B.A. in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Special Education and a M.S. in Child Development from the University of Wyoming. He has served on several boards including the National Coalition for Campus Children's Centers, Laramie Head Start, Laramie Montessori School, as well as serving as past-president of the Wyoming Early Childhood Association. He has also spent numerous hours advocating for men working in early childhood programs.
When not at work, Mark can be found chasing behind both of his sons either on the golf course or the ski slopes, hiking in the Snowies with his wife and daughter, or learning a new recipe in the kitchen. In addition to spending outdoor time with his family, he also cheers on his favorite teams including UW sports, the Denver Broncos and Chelsea soccer.
