The faculty of the Department of Economics and Finance specializes in four broad areas of research:

  • Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (including Energy Economics),
  • Financial Economics,
  • Industrial Organization, and
  • Trade and Development Economics. 

These are also the four fields of specialization that we offer to our PhD students.  However, our faculty and students perform research in many other fields as well.

Center for Energy Economics and Public Policy

The CEEPP provides objective information and analysis for energy policies at the state, national, and international level that strive to balance economic, environmental, and social considerations. CEEPP studies estimate the costs and benefits of energy technologies and policies and seek to convey the implications for energy markets and macroeconomic growth in Wyoming and beyond.
