Student Ambassadors

Call for College Ambassador Applicants

The University of Wyoming’s College of Education Ambassadors serve as leaders, role models, and supporters of the College of Education to promote a positive public image. As representatives, they work with alumni, current students, faculty, prospective students, and guests.
Students selected as ambassadors have excellent opportunities to further develop personal, social communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities of College Ambassadors

College of Education Ambassadors need to be willing to serve for the fall and spring semester, to dedicate 1-2 hours a week, and to participate in the following activities:

  • Act as a liaison between students, prospective students, alumni, and distinguished guests of the university
  • Members are expected to attend all meetings which will be held Wednesdays at 7:00 pm
  • Attend and participate in a minimum of 3 outside events beyond meetings
  • Participate in at least one standing committee
  • Participate in at least one standing committee.
  • Attend one meeting of another College of Education’s RSO each semester
  • Attendance at the Annual College of Education Banquet

Desired Qualities of College Ambassadors

College of Education Ambassadors should possess the following qualities: commitment to the College's development and improvement; enthusiasm for and pride in the College; self-direction and high level of motivation; strong communication skills, and strong personal and social skills. In addition, they should be fulltime undergraduate students enrolled in any academic major in the College of Education, have completed at least one semester (15 credit hours) in the College, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Application Process

Ambassador applications are now available in the Dean’s Office and the Office of Teacher Education- they are brief and easy to complete, though they do require a recommendation signature from a faculty person. Individual interviews of applicants qualifying to become ambassadors will occur as applications are turned in. Applications are available in McWhinnie Hall, Room 100 (Office of Teacher Education) and in the Dean’s Office (Education Room 6).
