WyoMakers, a makerspace a program of the University of Wyoming College of Education, recently received the 2015 Best of Laramie Award in Education by the Laramie Award Program.
The Laramie Award Program recognizes “the best of local businesses in our community.” WyoMakers and other 2015 recipients “have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.”
WyoMakers, part of the global maker movement, provides a variety of tools, software, and equipment - including workstations and a 3D printer - to structure activities that foster engagement in hands-on learning activities for students of all ages.
“I'm excited that WyoMakers is attracting attention that will only help the program grow and create more opportunities for makers and students,” program founder and director Tonia Dousay, assistant professor of instructional technology, says.
