UW adult & postsecondary ed doctoral programs

nationally ranked for second year

Two University of Wyoming doctoral degrees that prepare graduates for careers in adult and postsecondary education maintained a second-place ranking in 2016 by a national organization tracking and evaluating quality online academic programming.

GoGrad (, an online platform recognized both of UW’s adult and postsecondary specializations, the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and doctor of education (Ed.D.), in its third round of evaluation.  UW’s programs scored 98.29 out of 100 possible points, only 0.63 points behind the top-ranked program. The programs, which also ranked second in 2015, are housed within the UW College of Education’s Department of Professional Studies.

Ranked schools were evaluated based on the following criteria:

•    Number of online graduate degrees available in related subject area
•    Graduate tuition
•    Availability of academic & career counseling services
•    Availability of job placement services
GoGrad’s scale uses Peer-Based Value (PBV), which compares the cost of each program to the cost of similar programs with the same qualitative score. For more information on GoGrad’s methodology and on this year’s recognized doctoral programs, visit
