UW faculty, graduate students

contribute to AECT leadership

The University of Wyoming Instructional Technology Program is well represented in the Association for Educational Communication & Technology’s (AECT) current and future leadership ranks.

Kay Persichitte, UW professor of professional studies/instructional technology, continues her 20-plus years of AECT service as the organization’s 2015-16 president.

Craig Shepherd, UW associate professor of professional studies/instructional technology, begins a term as Teacher Education Division member at large at the AECT’s annual conference in October.

Tonia Dousay, UW assistant professor of professional studies/instructional design, moves from president-elect of the AECT Distance Learning Division to president of that interest group in October.

Three instructional technology doctoral students also serve, or will serve, in leadership positions. Jonlee Anderle is president of the Graduate Student Assembly this year. He will serve an additional term as past-president beginning in October. Jennifer LaVanchy will join the Teacher Education Division board. Victoria Bryant joins the AECT Ethics Committee.

“The UW Instructional Technology program is proud to recognize the significant service and leadership roles of faculty and graduate students to the Association for Educational Communications and Technology,” Persichitte says “AECT is the premier international professional organization for scholars and practitioners in the field of Educational/Instructional Technology. The mission of AECT is to provide international leadership by promoting scholarship and best practices in the creation, use, and management of technologies for effective teaching and learning. These individuals are making substantial contributions to that mission.”
