A Building Emergency Action Plan (BEAP) is a procedural document which provides pre-planning guidelines and actions to be taken by University of Wyoming faculty, staff, students and visitors in the event of an emergency such as fire, explosion, severe weather, chemical releases, and all other emergencies.

The University of Wyoming Police Department (UWPD) is the principal law enforcement agency serving the University of Wyoming. The UWPD operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is responsible for law enforcement, public safety, building security, and traffic control within the university. (UW web page)
