Education:

• B.S. Applied Physics, Michigan Technological University, 1962
• M.S. Physics, Michigan Technological University, 1967
• Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, University of Wyoming, 1974

Areas of Expertise: Electronics, atmospheric instrumentation, industrial control instrumentation.

Professional Experience:

Dr. Cupal transferred to the Electrical Engineering Department September 1983. Previous to this, he was employed by the Department of Atmospheric Science from 1979 to 1983 as a Senior Engineer. He was responsible for instrumentation used by department personnel for atmospheric studies.

From 1977 to 1979, Dr. Cupal was employed with the Wyoming Highway Department where he designed specialized electronic control or data taking devices. Prior to that, he was employed by the U.S. Forest Service at Laramie, Wyoming where he conducted research in wildlife biotelemetry.
