Power System Identification
Extensive research is being conducted at the University of Wyoming in the area of Power System Identification from measured data. UW has been collaborating with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Pacific Northwest National Laboratories (PNNL), Montana Tech and others, on methods to identify power system characteristics from measurements throughout a power grid.
School of Energy Resources

UW EMTTC
The University of Wyoming Electric Motor Training & Testing Center (UWEMTTC) was established in 1991. Originally funded by the US Department of Energy, the State of Wyoming Energy Office and the Nicholson Foundation, the UWEMTTC is a self sufficient research lab participating in various electrical energy related projects throughout the state of Wyoming. The Wind Energy Research Center (WERC) provides experimental and computational capabilities as well as intellectual resources to carry out internationally-unique research that will aid in enhancing energy security while reducing energy-related environmental impact. [More]
Wind Farm Efficiency research via Adaptive and Distributed Control; Developing techniques for addressing the problem of inspection and health monitoring of large-scale, grid-interconnected wind farms used for clean electrical power generation.
