Engaged Student Award

The Student Engagement Award is presented by President Laurie S. Nichols and Provost Kate Miller, in cooperation with the Service, Leadership, and Community Engagement (SLCE) Office and UW’s Engagement Task Force, to acknowledge students or a recognized student organization at the University of Wyoming who have been engaged in service-learning or other programs that have made a tangible difference in the community. The award will be presented to a student or group that has successfully partnered with a community agency to sponsor an outstanding community program that has been student planned and well organized, involves active participation from a community agency, demonstrates a measurable impact on the community served. Programs may be one-time events or ongoing projects. Selection is based on answers to the essay questions below written by the student describing how his/her service experience has affected their academic and personal development, and contributed to the community. Nominations may come from students, faculty, staff, and/or community organizations.
