Specific Instructions for CGS and Wallop Fellowships

These fellowships represent a partnership—between the Office of Engagement and Outreach and the Center for Global Studies, or the Wallop Civic Engagement Program.

  • The OEO-CGS International Faculty Fellow will work directly with OEO and the Center for Global Studies to promote their engaged scholarship/teaching/service, to coordinate with colleagues who are internationally engaged, and to accomplish international engagement and programming in Wyoming. The fellow will be chosen by the directors of OEO and CGS.
  • The OEO Wallop Faculty Fellow will work directly with OEO to help build capacity in its civic engagement-themed programming and project development.  The specific focus is open, but proposals should address a civic engagement topic focused on issue(s) of significant public concern in partnership with Wyoming communities that enhance scholarship, teaching, and/or student service.

General Program Expectations

Fellows are expected to work directly with the Office of Engagement and Outreach Director, UW’s Engagement Council, and faculty across campus to build UW’s capacity in the area of identified community engagement and outreach.  The strongest proposals should contain both a statewide component and a campus component and include a discussion on potential community college and K-12 collaborations.  These components can include participating in or organizing campus professional development seminars, an in-reach activity for a campus and/or off-campus audience, and off-campus programs within their area of expertise (e.g., a Saturday University program).
