Brucellosis in the Greater Yellowstone Area. 1995. The Institute applied its consensus-based approach to addressing procedural challenges faced by the Greater Yellowstone Interagency Brucellosis Committee (GYIBC). Institute recommendations developed by the Board center on increasing the effective participation of local communities, non-governmental interest groups and the public in the consensus-building effort, and establishing clear statements about the decision-making and implementation authority of the GYIBC. The Endangered Species Act and Private Property. 1997. Reprinted from Land and Water Law Review. Includes Foreword by William D. Ruckelshaus, background papers prepared by a Study Panel of UW faculty and outside experts, and eight principles developed by the Institute Board to help improve implementation of the Act. 145 pages. $7.50

U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act. 1995. The Institute Board developed recommendations for revision of the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act, focusing on the needs and concerns of rural and small town communities in the West. Includes background materials provided by UW faculty. 50 pages. $5.50.

Ways to Conserve Wyoming's Wonderful Open Lands: A Guidebook. 1997. A project of Governor Jim Geringer's Open Spaces Initiative. Includes discussion of issues related to preservation of open lands, and tools for landowners and local government officials. 40 pages. Originally available from County Extension Agents, who may still have copies.  Also the report can be accessed on the internet.
