 Overview
Program Overview and Structure:
This program is housed at the Haub School & Ruckelshaus Institute for Environment and Natural Resources on the campus of the University of Wyoming. The WCC will serve both agencies working on public lands and industries interested in increasing their community involvement. Through a strong industry partnership, the WCC will be able to provide low-cost conservation crews to these organizations. Placement at the University of Wyoming allows the program to actively recruit corps members from a wide range of departments, working in conjunction with various agriculture related disciplines, biology and wildlife management departments, geography, geology and any other related existing programs.
The Wyoming Conservation Corps provides Wyoming's young adults important personal and technical skills and experience in natural resource and environmental career fields, through projects focusing on improving Wyoming's public lands. Participants will gain first hand experience dealing with Wyoming's complex landscape, providing them with real world skills and a deeper appreciation for the state's environmental challenges and riches. Furthermore, the WCC program will provide financial support for higher education, at Wyoming's community colleges or the University of Wyoming. Last Updated on 9/11/2009 10:24:02 AM |
