Languages : fluent in dutch, english, french, german ; working knowledge : spanish, italian. Present occupation : Chief Technical Advisor (project leader) of the UN FAO Project LOCUSTOX. LOCUSTOX is the only ecotoxicological research and training institute in africa, north of South Africa. Its scope is environmental safety of pesticides in the Sahel with regard to human and husbandry health ; and aquatic, soil and crop ecosystems’ safety. Although small (25 staff) the institute’s unique position and high quality standards ensure that its activities are sollicited by national, regional and supranational institutions, both corporate and (supra-) governmental. LOCUSTOX was created in 1989 by me with Dutch aid funds. I resumed leadship in 1994.

Lecturer of Ecotoxicology ; Department of Toxicology ; University of Wageningen, the Netherlands (1976-1989).
