Areas of Expertise

Microbes as pest control agents, baculoviruses as expression vectors, research management, development issues.

Leader of LUBILOSA project from 1993 to 1999; initially focussing on field trials, initiating mass production studies, then enlarging to encompass socio-economic and ecotoxicological issues. Involvement of national programmes and training activities.

Leader of IITA's insect pathology programme from 1995 to 1999; initiating projects on classical biological control with pathogens (cassava green mite and Neozygites floridana), stem borers, banana weevil and termites.

Coordinator / Programme leader of IITA's Biological Control Programme/Project from 1995 to 1998; coordinating work on classical biological control against floating water weeds, spiralling whitefly and mango mealybug. Involvement in institutional management and coordination issues.
