Clubhorned Grasshopper

Aeropedellus clavatus (Thomas)

Aeropedellus clavatus, the clubhorned grasshopper, is found throughout the rangelands in Wyoming, but is more abundant in moist areas and at higher elevations. The eggs pass the winter in soil and may take two years to hatch at higher elevations. Adults can be found from June to September. Although it feeds on grasses, reports of damage to rangelands are rare.
