Common name: POINT HEADED GRASSHOPPER.

Size: 25-35 mm.

General distribution: S. Arizona, New Mexico, and W. Texas, S. to San Luis Potosi and Durango, Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Chaves, Dona Ana, Eddy, Hidalgo, Otero, Sierra.

Habitat: Desert grassland in limestone, gypsum, and rhyolite areas.

Host: Coldenia canescens.

Adults Present: July-September.

Notes: Distinctively spotted, point-headed grasshopper. Not economically important.
