Conozoa sulcifrons (Scudder)

Common name: GROOVE-HEADED GRASSHOPPER.

Size: 19-37 mm.

General distribution: S. British Columbia, Canada, S. to Baja California, Mexico, and New Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, San Jan, Santa Fe, Sierra, Socorro, Valencia.

Habitat: Dry and desert grassland.

Host: Probably forbs.

Adults Present: March-November.

Notes: Differs from C. carinata in usually having red or orange (often yellow in northern specimens) hind tibiae. Not economically important.
