Dicromorpha viridis (Scudder)

Common name: SHORT-WINGED GREEN GRASSHOPPER

Size: 15-27 mm.

General distribution: E. United States, SW to New Mexico, S. to S. Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Lincoln.

Habitat: Fence lines, roadsides, lakes, ponds, etc.

Host: Coarse grasses.

Adults Present: July-September.

Notes: A short-winged, green, brown or green and brown, slant-faced grasshopper, found primarily in the eastern United States. Not economically important.
