Mermiria texana Bruner

Size: 27-50 mm.

General distribution: Colorado, S. to S. California and Texas, and into Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Cibola, Dona Ana, Eddy, Guadalupe, Lincoln, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Socorro, Union, Valencia.

Habitat: Grassy areas of rocky slopes.

Host: Grasses.

Adults Present: July.

Notes: Like the other species of Mermiria except dorsum with two pale ivory bands, converging at midsection of forewings. Not economically important.
