Size: 15-26 mm.

General distribution: S. Canada, throughout United States, S. into Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Colfax, Guadalupe, Mora, Union.

Habitat: Riparian areas and swales.

Host: Grasses.

Adults Present: July-October.

Notes: Green to brown slant-faced grasshopper with lateral pronotal carinae cut by two sulci; often with contrasting longitudinal bands; hind tibiae brown. Not economically important.
