Size: 22-32 mm.

General distribution: S. Washington, S. and E. to SW Texas and California into Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Chaves, Dona Ana, Hidalgo, Lea, Luna, Otero, Socorro.

Habitat: Desert and sand hills.

Host: Grasses.

Adults Present: June-October.

Notes: Extreme slant-faced grasshopper with distinct lateral dark and white bands; hind tibiae tan; tegmina just reaching tip of abdomen. Not economically important.
