Phrynotettix tshivavensis (Haldeman)


Size: 18-32 mm.

General distribution: Arizona, New Mexico, and W. Texas, S. into Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Catron, Colfax, Dona Ana, Grant, Harding, Hidalgo, Lea, Lincoln, Otero, San Miguel, Sierra, Socorro, Taos, Torrance, Union, Valencia.

Habitat: Grassland, desert; rocky and gravelly areas, especially lava flows.

Host: Unknown.

Adults Present: June-November.

Notes: Similar to P. robustus, but differing in details of coloring on inner hind femora; usually smaller. Not economically important.
