Spharagemon bolli Scudder [= S. inornatum Morse]

Common name: BOLL'S GRASSHOPPER.

Size: 26-28 mm.

General distribution: Eastern United States, W. to Utah and Arizona and N. to S. Canada.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Colfax, Harding, Lincoln, Otero, Sandoval, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Torrance, Union, Valencia.

Habitat: Sloping oak woodlands.

Host: Unknown.

Adults Present: July-September.

Notes: Genus separated from Trimerotropis and Conozoa by median pronotal crests; differs from other Spharagemon in having hind tibiae banded white, black, and red in order toward distal end. A band-wing grasshopper with yellow hind wing basal area and blackish band with short spur. Not economically important.
