Trimerotropis maritima (Harris) [= T. citrina Scudder]

Adult

Common name: CITRUS-WINGED GRASSHOPPER, SEASIDE GRASSHOPPER.

Size: 19-35 mm.

General distribution: E. United States, W. to Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona, S. into NE Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Chaves, Dona Ana, Otero, Socorro.

Habitat: Sandy riparian and roadside areas.

Host: Unknown, probably forbs.

Adults Present: June-October.

Notes: Similar to T. pallidipennis, but lacks strong bands on tegmina and has orange, not yellow, hind tibiae. Differs from T. agrestis in shape of lateral lobes. Not economically important.
