Grasshoppers of Wyoming and the West

Entomology

Trimerotropis diversellus Hebard

Trimerotropis diversellus

Trimerotropis diversellus has been reported most often in Wyoming from Yellowstone National Park. Our specimens were found on barren mineralized soil associated with fumaroles and geyser basins. In other states it is usually found in open woodlands or alkaline depressions. Our records of adults are from late August and September. Because of limited distribution and abundance it is not considered a pest species in Wyoming.
