Our research examines how ecosystems respond to climate change and disturbance on timescales of decades to thousands of years. Current projects include:

Ciénegas are desert wetlands that form in a number of environmental settings. We are studying how these systems develop through time.

Rapid uplift of the Portuguese Coast has resulted in dune deposits interlaced with organic beds providing insight to coastal vegetation development on the Iberian Peninsula.

Combining of lake level and vegetation history, we are looking at how forests have responded to prolonged drought in the central Rocky Mtns.
