Sheena is currently a senior research scientist and the lab manager for EORI. She mainly works on utilizing enhanced oil recovery techniques to improve the oil production from mature fields in Wyoming. Some of those techniques include: enhanced oil recovery by injection of solution gas and injection of water with different salinity and compositions; enhanced oil and gas recovery by chemical stimulation around wellbores; wettability of rock/crude oil/brine systems; coalbed methane water disposal; artificial lifting of geothermal fluids; and CO2 underground injection evaluation. Previously she has worked as a project manager/senior engineer at the Intertek Westport Technology Center, a research professor and senior research engineer at the University of Wyoming, an advisory engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory, the principal investigator and the R&D scientist at the Correlations Company, and a research engineer at the China National Petroleum Corporation. She received her PhD in petroleum engineering from the University of Wyoming. She is a member of the Pi Epsilon Tau (PET) National Petroleum Engineering Honor Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. She is also a lifetime member of the Society of Core Analysts.
