Using Video to Tell Your Story of Science, February 16 - 18, Various Locations Across Campus

Interested in using video footage in your research and wondering how to get started? Join us for a three day workshop using tools found in most people's pockets! In the world of multimedia and fast-paced news, it is imperative that scientists become stronger communicators and champions of their work. The video platform is a powerful way to reach a broad audience beyond the silos of science and discipline. There are few better ways to spark curiosity and share your story of scientific discovery than through film. For more about the workshop and to register check out the webpage.

Telling your Story of Scientific Discovery, February 16, 2017, 6:30pm Enzi STEM Atrium

Communicating science is well, an art and a science. This event will bring together science communicators who use a variety of media to discuss the tools they use to tell their story of scientific discovery. Join EPSCoR for an evening of questions and conversation; explore the dynamic nature of science communication, how to build a story about your scientific endeavors, and what makes effective communication through various media. Panelists: Willow Belden, Morgan Heim, Jeff Lockwood, and Greg Nickerson will join moderator Emilene Ostlind for an interactive event for scientists, communicators, students, and generally curious individuals.

Undergraduate Research Day, April 29, 2017

Undergraduate students are invited to participate in the Fourteenth Annual Wyoming Undergraduate Research Day which will take place in Laramie. Wyoming’s celebration of undergraduate research is open to all students who have completed an independent research or creative project in any discipline at Wyoming community colleges, UW/Casper College and the University of Wyoming.  Last year approximately 350 students presented their research, and this year we anticipate an even richer display of undergraduate curiosity and creativity. Abstracts of all presentations will be published. For instructions on participation and more information, check out the Undergraduate Research Day Website here.
